Deanview is positioned next to St. Andrews burn which can be spotted from the garden grounds. Located in the heart of Coldingham, a popular village framed around Coldingham Priory with picturesque beaches and coastal views. The area is renowned for its lovely historic creel paths linking the village to the beach, forest walks and surrounding communities. Coldingham benefits from a range of local amenities, as well as a central village hall for community activities it has a local Spar supermarket, lively pubs , a fish and chip shop and a brilliant butcher which would all love your support.
The village also features a post office, antiques shop and a very well-regarded primary school. Further schooling is close by with Eyemouth High School being a short distance away. Belhaven Hill School in Dunbar as well as Longridge Towers School near to Berwick-Upon-Tweed are all highly thought of schools in the area.
Deanview is on the doorstep of the award winning Coldingham Sands beach and the impressive St Abbs Head National Nature Reserve. A short distance away is the sistering village if Reston, where the new Reston Train Station is now in operation. The station is a sub-station of the main East Coastline connecting London to Aberdeen which makes commuting to Newcastle or Edinburgh very quick and easy.
There are a number of larger towns near Deanview, the closest being Eyemouth which is approximately 4 miles to the South. Eyemouth is a fishing port with an operational harbour inclosing a colourful fleet. It has a wide range of amenities including a Co-op Supermarket, home bakery and fishmonger who supply to the local cafes and restaurants. Leisure facilities are readily available with a swimming pool and fitness centre and a host of marine activities such as diving.
Nearby is the historic town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed which sits about 12 miles from Deanview just off the A1, in Northumberland. Berwick offers a range of national supermarkets and services, good local shopping, numerous cafes, restaurants and the Maltings Arts Centre.
Country and sporting pursuits are widely available and there are several golf courses within a short drive including Eyemouth, Dunbar, Goswick and Magdalene Fields in Berwick.
In addition, Deanview offers simple links to Edinburgh, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and even London. Berwick’s east coast mainline train station offers a regular service up and down the country with London only being a 3 ½ hour journey. The A1 trunk road also provides easy commutable access to both Edinburgh and Newcastle.
